Text Box: The athlete development model (ADM) used by Triathlon BC is based on a model that combines Provincial, National, and International competitions into a single comprehensive framework. In BC, hundreds of athletes can be found at the various developmental levels show in the ADM diagram below; from novice youth participants to elite professional athletes who will compete in the Olympics and major international competitions. It is important that our development model provide coverage for all athletes participating and competing in the sport of triathlon in this province. One of the main goals of the ADM model is to provide a clear and concise road map for provincial athletes to follow.

Services Provided

Outlined below are just a few of the services that Triathlon BC provides to our athletes.

  • Athlete Assistance Program (AAP):  Triathlon BC has consistently matched the AAP funding received by the BC Government to help our developing athletes. Typically, annual funding to select high-performance athletes has been in the $1,000 to $2,000;  In 2006/07, Triathlon BC distributed close to $5,000!

  • Training Camps:  Each year a number of training camps aimed at kids aged six to nineteen have been conducted throughout the Province. In the past, areas such as Penticton, Kelowna, Victoria, Prince George, Nanaimo, and Vancouver have hosted camps.
