Triathlon BC Affiliated Clubs
| Triathlon BC's affiliated clubs play a vital role in creating opportunities for development, participating in, and promoting the sport of Triathlon. Clubs provide social opportunities, oversee training, encourage development at all levels, and contribute to the growth and development of our sport. In order to identify Triathlon BC's concept of 'Clubs' - as opposed to informal associations of individuals - minimum criteria and participant numbers (zone-dependant) have been established, as listed below:
A minimum of one (1) certified coach must be present at each listed training session. Coaches can be accredited through the NCCP Community Sport Coaching Clinic or be identified as Triathlon 'coaches-in-training' if presently working through the Introduction to Competition coaching stream. Coaches can also be certified in associated fields (i.e. swimming, cycling certification in lieu of Triathlon certification). Criminal Record Checks for all Coaches of youth under the age of 19 years All coaches and participants in club training sessions must be current Triathlon BC members. **Please note: With the successful launch of the Community Sport Coaching program, TriBC plans to phase out coaching equivalencies over the next two years, adopting the Community Coaching program as a mandatory minimum level of certification for all clubs seeking insurance. This policy will come into effect January 1, 2011. Please plan to enrol your coaches in upcoming Community coaching programs in the not too distant future.
