Triathlon BC is hosting a spring training camp in Victoria between March 23rd and 27th.  This 5-day camp is open to athletes between the ages of 14 and 19 who are looking to improve their race day performance throughout the 2020 season.

Athletes taking part in this camp can expect to learn open water swim tactics,  triathlon-specific swim skills,  transition tips and tricks,  bike skills,  including drafting techniques,  running form, effective off the bike strategies,  improved recovery techniques, in addition to basic bike maintenance.

CAMP DETAILS:

  • Dates: March 23-27
  • Times:
    • Monday to Thursday – 9am to 4pm
    • Friday – 9am to 2:30pm
  • Location:
    • Saanich Commonwealth Pool(4636 Elk Lake Drive)
    • All cycling and running will take place on the trails and roads around this facility
  • Cost: $375.00
  • Deadline for Registration: March 15th (midnight)*

*In order to make this learning experience valuable and create the best possible training experience a minimum of 8 people are required, with a camp capacity a maximum of 20 people.

Athletes planning to attend this camp should come prepared with all of the equipment needed to train, including:

  • Suit, goggles, cap, band, pull buoy, fins
  • Road bike, equipped with fenders, that is in safe working order
  • Helmet, riding glasses, proper gloves for warmth and safety
  • Saddlebag with the correct tube, CO2 and adaptor, tire levers
  • Trainer specific rear skewer (bike trainers supplied)
  • Water bottle and cage
  • Proper running shoes and attire (weather appropriate)
  • Watch with stopwatch
  • Casual clothes
  • Lunch Monday-Thursday (lunch will be provided on Friday)
  • Snacks Monday-Friday
