In February, Canadian Tire Corporation announced an additional $12 million commitment to Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund to help sport and recreation organizations build back sport and play in Canada. As one of over 500 sport and recreation organizations across Canada to receive grant funding from the latest round of support from Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund this year, Triathlon BC kicks youth recruitment and development into overdrive across the province as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease.
“Our vision is to be able to create, improve and grow our current programming in order to be accessible to more kids in communities across BC. Amid the challenges of the pandemic and moving into the future, it’s without question that the Jumpstart Grant will better position Triathlon BC moving forward, said Larry Feagan, Board Chair. “The funding will benefit young participants across the province, and will allow everyone, regardless of income level, to take part in a sport that offers so many incredible opportunities to compete in BC, across Canada and the globe.”
With the uncertainties the global pandemic has wrought on sport, Jumpstart’s support will allow Triathlon BC to continue delivering youth specific programming, enabling kids to sample a unique sport that offers opportunities to participate and compete across the age spectrum.
