How to Qualify

Interested athletes must be Triathlon BC members PRIOR to the chosen qualifying event. Results are adjusted to determine appropriate five year age categories based on competitor’s ages as of the World Championship year, December 31, 2020. The age adjusted results will be used to determine the automatic qualified athletes, who will be notified by Triathlon Canada directly.

Roll Down Policy

Triathlon Canada is offering an opportunity to claim a roll-down spot. Athletes who meet the requirements above may be offered a roll-down spot based on their placing. The number of roll-down spots offered will depend on the total number of qualifying spots at a specific event.  For those who do not automatically qualify based on the age adjusted results, athletes will need to submit an online Expression of Interest (EOI/link to be provided) for the event they wish to claim a roll down spot in PRIOR to the event race date.

Triathlon Canada will administer a $20 fee to submit an EOI which will be treated as a deposit for those who are successful in obtaining a spot. This fee will be deducted from the athlete’s Team Management Fee as part of their official confirmation to the team. The $20 fee will be non-refundable for athletes who are unsuccessful in obtaining a spot. However, the fee may be applied to a charity entry instead. Successful athletes will be notified by Triathlon Canada directly.
