Triathlon BC is excited to be returning to the 2020 Summer Games this year. Taking place at Whonnock Lake Park in Maple Ridge, Triathlon will have a full slate of events, including Duathlon, Aquathlon, Super Sprint Triathlon, F1 Triathlon, and Triathlon.
Qualification information for these games has been finalized. Athletes between the ages of 14-15, who are looking to participate in these games, are highly encouraged to take part in one of our zone qualification events. To date, six races have confirmed they will be acting as zone qualification events. Regions that have not confirmed a race will be setting up an alternative qualification event. The six races acting as qualification events are:
- March 7 – UBC Triathlon (Zones 3,4,5)
- May 19 – North Shore Triathlon (Zones 3,4,5)*
- May 23 – PG Kids Triathlon (Zone 8)
- May 24 – Kalamalka Time Trial (Zone 2)
- May 31 – Comox Valley Tri-K (Zone 6)
- June 7 – Victoria Youth Triathlon (Zone 6)*
- June 13 – WASA Triathlon (Zone 1)
*Athletes will need to enter in the Draft Legal SuperSeries category for these events.
Triathlon can bring up to 52 athletes to the 2020 BC Summer Games. Athletes, between the ages of 14-15, must qualify for the Games through a qualification event for their region of the province. There are a total of 4 spots per zone plus additional wildcards spots available. A Zone Qualification document has been created to clearly outline the qualification process.
