When the COVID-19 event cancellation cascade started last week, Triathlon BC began compiling a list of all the sanctioned programs and events affected by the outbreak. As the situation worsened over the course of the ensuing days, we were in daily, and in some cases hourly, conversations with our stakeholders, it became clear that documenting every cancelled event was going to be a challenge.

With WHO and BCCDC guidelines now in place to limit the spread of the virus—and in some municipalities, being extended at a rapid rate, everyone is beginning to come to terms with temporary realities of life under quarantine, physical distancing and social isolation.

This dashboard will track the coronavirus-related event shutdowns throughout the province, and will be updated as news is received.

We sincerely hope this page becomes redundant in a very short period of time. Until then, and importantly, be kind to the Race Directors who have painstakingly built incredible events for all of us to enjoy, only to have them swiftly erased by this pandemic.
