IMPORTANT: 2017 Triathlon Canada National Championship Update

Triathlon Canada would like to remind everyone that the 2017 Ottawa CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon Premium American Cup / 2017 Triathlon Canada National Championship is a Gateway Event to;

  • ITU events in the remainder of 2017;
  • Sport Canada AAP;
  • Triathlon Canada National and Development Teams;

ITU Events
You must compete in the 2017 Triathlon Canada National Championships to remain eligible for all remaining 2017 World Triathlon Series / 2017 WTS Grand Final, all remaining 2017 World Cups, and the 2017 Junior/U23 World Championships. Please refer to all Triathlon Canada selection policies for details

Sport Canada AAP
You must compete in the 2017 Triathlon Canada National Championships to remain eligible for 2017-2018 AAP, and to be apply for 2018-19 AAP

National and Development Team
You must compete in the 2017 Triathlon Canada National Championships to remain eligible for 2017 National and Development Team, and to be eligible for 2018 National and Development Teams.

The start list for the 2017 Ottawa CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon Premium American Cup / 2017 Triathlon Canada National Championships will be drawn by the ITU in one week, on Monday May 15.

While entries remain open right up until race day, athletes who have not entered the 2017 Ottawa CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon Premium American Cup before midnight Sunday May 14 accept the risk of not making the ITU start list should the race exceed the maximum field size. Triathlon Canada will not grant eligibility exemptions to any athlete who fails to enter the race before the ITU start list draw AND who subsequently does not make the start list.

The entry process for the 2017 Ottawa CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon is unique as it is both a domestic event, and the 2017 Triathlon Canada National Championships.
