Open Water Swim Clinic – Radium Hot Springs & Lake Windermere, June 22nd 2019

Please join the Organizing Committee of the Lake Windermere Aquathlon, home to 2020 ITU World Aquathlon Championship qualifying,  for a fun and exciting open water swim clinic!  This clinic is intended to introduce swimmers who have a basic, intermediate or advanced front crawl ability to skills and techniques specific to triathlon swimming and/or open water swimming in a race environment.  This clinic will introduce concepts such as long-distance swimming kick technique, stroke technique, bi-lateral breathing, buoy turns, drafting, sighting, group swimming situations, training tips & more.

Athletes will be working on specific swim techniques in the Radium Hot Springs outdoor pool before bringing the new found skills and theoretical knowledge out to be applied into an open water swim environment on Lake Windermere.  Two coaches will be facilitating and available for stroke analysis.

Please bring a snack, your wetsuit, your own transportation to and from Radium and Lake Windermere, and swim fins if possible.  The cost for the clinic is $20.00 for Triathlon BC members (day membership is also available).  Park and pool fees are extra.

Prerequisite for participation: Ability to swim 100 meters front crawl continuously.  Must be sixteen years of age or older.  Participation limit of 20.  Please visit the Lake Windermere Aquathlon Website for more information or register for the Clinic on the link found HERE.
