Considerable interest has been received from coaches and athletes from across Canada for the inaugural, 10-day Prep Camp leading to the Kelowna Apple National Championships.

A joint effort between Triathlon Ontario and Triathlon BC, the Camp is aimed at performance oriented Junior and U23 athletes looking to fine tune fitness under the guidance of two of Canada’s prominent development coaches, Provincial Coaches Kelly Guest (BC) and Greg Kealey (Ontario).

As indicated in the original release, the camp will be based out of the University of British Columbia – Okanagan Campus, in Kelowna, BC, an area renowned for its award winning vineyards and rolling hills. Athlete fees include access to all facilities, ground transportation throughout the camp, and all accommodations through to August 16th.  Training sessions include pool and open water technical swimming, race-specific cycling preparation, road, track and trail running, mock races that place an emphasis on speed and skill, in addition to daily information seminars and race planning.

The camp is supported by the coaching staff, however, athletes are expected to cook, clean, shop and ensure all equipment is properly maintained. Athletes must also self-monitor and maintain proper recovery techniques as discussed during the daily evening debrief meetings.

The cost of the 10-day camp, open to all performance-oriented athletes 16 to 23 years of age, is $750.00.  To register, please click on the button below.
