For all CSI Pacific Athletes, Teams and Staff,

This post is to inform you that we have been notified that a Canadian canoeist athlete has recently tested positive for a banned substance. At this point, we are unaware of the source of doping but should have more information in the next 1.5 weeks. At the time of testing, this athlete was taking the 4 supplements listed below.  All but the NutraSea Omegas (considered to be very low risk) have been tested for banned substances via various testing programs.

To err on the side of caution, we strongly recommend you discontinue use of all supplements listed below until we know more information:

Precision creatine
Batch # 20161218
Lot # 1716925

Power Bar beta-alanine
Batch # 146822
Lot# 8109

NutraSea Omega-3 HP + vitamin D capsules
Lot # 20871

M.E.G. military caffeine gum:
Arctic Mint     Batch # AR-00102
Spearmint      Batch # SP- 00101
Cinnamon      Batch # CN-00103

We should note that at this time, none of these tested products has been shown to be the source of this positive test, and that many athletes take these products world-wide and specifically the batches listed above, across Canada.  That said, as stated above, to err on the side of caution we recommend discontinuing use until more testing can take place.

As you are all aware, the safety and purity of supplements is a top priority for CSI-Pacific. We will be in touch once we have more information.

Thank you,
Wendy Pattenden
