CELEBRATING 12 YEARS OF EVENT LEADERSHIP!

Now in its 12th year, the Race Directors’ Conference continues to be the go-to gathering for endurance event organizers across Canada. Co-hosted by Triathlon BC, BC Athletics, and welcoming Cycling BC in 2025, this in-person forum unites event producers representing 300,000+ participants and 250+ sanctioned events across regional, provincial, national, and international calendars.

This is a full-day program designed to be collaborative and interactive — built to inspire, inform, and connect. Expect a mix of presentations, panels, and hands-on discussions that tackle the real challenges of sport delivery today.

“This is hands down the most valuable day of the year for anyone involved in event management in BC. The connections, the resources, the ideas—you walk away energized and ready to take your race to the next level.”

Taking place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Metrotown in Burnaby, this full-day professional development event unites industry leaders from across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and beyond.

“The topics covered the range of education our volunteer race directors, who were new to the role, needed to organize local community events.”

The Race Directors Conference features a curated program of expert-led sessions including:

  • Steve Fleck, Emcee: Professional Live Race/Event Announcer, Presenter & Sports Commentator for running, cycling and triathlon events.
  • Ihor Veres, Keynote: Known for being the first Canadian to finish the Barkley Marathons, widely regarded as one of the toughest races in the world.

Get ready for a day packed with insights from senior industry experts, networking, and inspiration, featuring sessions on:

  • Maximizing Social Media Channels, Nicole Van Zanten, Chief Growth Officer, ICUC Social
  • Engaging storytelling Through Socials, Darren Raynor, Head of Creative, Magnafire
  • Crisis Management: Aaron Billesberger – Senior Director, Event Safety Alliance Canada
