Triathlon Canada Brings New Super Sprint & Relay National Championships to Victoria
Triathlon BC is excited to share that Triathlon Canada will host the inaugural Super Sprint & Relay National Championships in Victoria, BC, marking a new and dynamic addition to the national championship calendar. The event will serve as the 2026 season finale, taking place August 22–23, 2026, and promises fast, exciting, and highly spectator-friendly racing in the heart of downtown Victoria.
Designed to blend elite, age group, junior, and community racing, the Super Sprint & Relay National Championships reflect Triathlon Canada’s vision of building a consistent and celebratory season-ending event that brings together athletes, fans, and the broader triathlon community. Victoria offers an ideal backdrop, with its mild climate, walkable urban core, and exceptional access to swim, bike, and run venues.
Racing will be centered around Clover Point, featuring a swim off Spiral Beach, a multi-lap bike course along Dallas Road, and a scenic run through Clover Point Park, all framed by sweeping ocean views and the Olympic Mountains. The compact course design creates a high-energy environment for both athletes and spectators, while showcasing one of British Columbia’s most iconic waterfront locations.

Kelowna Remains Home of Sprint & Standard Nationals
Triathlon BC would also like to emphasize that Kelowna will continue to host the Age Group Sprint and Standard Distance Triathlon National Championships, alongside the Standard Aquabike National Championships, as part of the iconic Kelowna Apple Triathlon. This long-standing event remains a cornerstone of the national calendar and a key championship opportunity for athletes racing traditional draft-illegal formats.
Together, Victoria and Kelowna now offer complementary National Championship experiences:
-
Victoria: Short-course, draft-legal, relay-focused racing with elite and age group integration
-
Kelowna: Classic Sprint and Standard distance racing on one of Canada’s most established championship courses
This expanded championship structure provides athletes across disciplines, distances, and development stages with more opportunities to race at the national level—right here in British Columbia.
More details, including course maps and registration information for the Victoria event, will be released by Triathlon Canada in the coming months.
