Triathlon BC’s High Performance Pathway (HPP) programing and projects provide opportunities for our aspiring HPP athletes and coaches to come together to learn, improve and grow within our performance focused community. Through specific testing and the sharing of best practices we aim to improve the Daily Training Environments (DTE) around the province giving our triathletes a better chance of success within our sport.

Triathlon BC’s High Performance Pathway (HPP) programing and projects

The Canadian Sport Institute, through a partnership with the Province of BC and ViaSport, the network of PacificSport Centers, and Triathlon BC collaborates to deliver programs and services to place BC Athletes on National Teams, and ensure athletes and coaches have every advantage to win medals for Canada. The partners work jointly to encourage sport excellence and increase podium performances in communities throughout British Columbia.

Through our partnership with the CSIP we can bring High performance expertise and resources to our BC athletes and coaches striving for the top of the podium. Testing and assessments done at CSIP camps can raise the level of daily training to keep our triathletes safer and getting faster, FASTER!

Who should get involved?
Any athlete that is driven, has high performance aspirations and meets the criteria should get involved. Triathlon may not be your only sport depending on your age and stage of athletic development and that is ok! It is widely accepted that Triathletes at all stages of development can see improvement and benefit from competing in single sport events like swim, bike or run races.

Perhaps you have only participated in a few triathlons but want to make a shift in focus, a number of the best triathletes in the world have come from other sports like soccer, hockey and swimming. Triathlon is classified as a “late development” sport with the average age of Olympic medalists between 26-29years old. If you have aged out of a performance stream program but still have High Performance dreams to fulfill, Triathlon might be your road to glory
