Triathlon BC is thrilled to confirm that it continues its ‘Accredited’ status under ViaSport’s Provincial Sport Organization Program for 2024/2025. viaSport’s Designation Program categorizes sport organizations into three tiers; Accredited, Recognized, or Affiliated – each with specific minimum standards and criteria tailored to the organization’s scale and scope.

All designated sport organizations and their members pledge to:

  • Deliver sport with excellence
  • Adhere to established standards
  • Champion inclusion, safety, and diversity
  • Provide resources to foster sport development

To receive an Accredited designation means an organization is reputable, trustworthy, and committed to operational excellence through high-quality sport delivery, adhering to standards, promoting inclusion, safety, and diversity and providing resources to enable the growth and development of sport.

Attaining Accredited status also means that organizations are eligible for annual core funding from the Province of BC, exclusive engagement opportunities, and are designated by the National Sport Organization as the provincial organizing body in BC for the sport. Not all sport organizations apply, meet, nor receive this level of designation.

Once a designation is provided, viaSport ensures compliance through annual reporting and reviews as well as through more comprehensive evaluations conducted every three years.
