Triathlon BC is excited to be part of the 2024 BC Summer Games, taking place at Whonnock Lake Park in Maple Ridge from July 18-21st. Triathlon will have a full slate of events, including Duathlon, Aquathlon, Super Sprint Triathlon, F1 Triathlon, and Triathlon.
Qualification process for these games has been finalized. Athletes between the ages of 14-16 (as of Dec 31, 2024), who are looking to participate in these games, are highly encouraged to take part in one of our zone qualification events. Six races will be acting as zone qualification events:
- May 5 – Cherry Triathlon, Kelowna (Zone 2)
- May 20 – North Shore Triathlon, North Vancouver (Zones 3,4,5)
- May 26 – Prince George Triathlon, Prince George (Zone 8)
- May 26 – Shoreline Orthodontics Tri-K , Courtenay (Zone 6)
- June 9 – WASA Triathlon , Kimberley (Zone 1)
- TBD – Vanderhoof Triathlon, Vanderhoof (Zone 7)
*Some qualifying events will be draft-legal events, while others will be non-drafting – a few events are still finalizing their categories and updates will be posted as soon as details are confirmed.
Triathlon can bring up to 52 athletes to the 2020 BC Summer Games. Athletes, between the ages of 14-16, can qualify for the Games through a qualification event for their region of the province. There are a total of 6 spots per zone plus additional wildcards spots available. A Zone Qualification document has been created to clearly outline the qualification process.
