BC Triathletes Shine at the World Championships in Wollongong

From October 15-19th, the coastal city of Wollongong, Australia welcomed hundreds of the world’s best amateur triathletes for the 2025 World Triathlon Age-Group Championships. Among them were dozens of proud BC athletes, representing Canada across Sprint, Standard, Aquabike and Mixed Relay events.

The event was part of the World Triathlon Championship Finals, featuring elite, para and age-group categories over five days of racing. From a surf-start swim in the Tasman Sea to technical bike laps through Wollongong’s coastal streets, the atmosphere was world-class — and BC athletes rose to the occasion.
