It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we learn of the passing of Hannah Henry.
Hannah discovered her love for multisport at a young age, completing her first triathlon at nine, before going on to compete in the 2014 BC Summer Games and becoming a regular competitor in BC’s SuperSeries. Hannah represented British Columbia at the 2017 Canada Games, winning two gold medals and one silver, and went on to secure two podium finishes in Triathlon Canada’s National Championships.
Hannah earned silver with Team Canada in the relay at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, and was among the first athletes to compete in NCAA triathlon, earning a scholarship with the Arizona State University, where she captured back-to-back titles at the USAT Collegiate National Championships and was named USA Triathlon Division I Freshman of the Year and an All-American.
Beyond her accomplishments, Hannah was a warm and generous friend, and could always be found with a smile on her face.
Triathlon BC extends its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to Hannah’s family, friends and fellow competitors.
