Lance Watson: Long-Distance Triathlon — Skills, Strategy & Mental Readiness
Lance Watson is a heavyweight in the triathlon coaching world—an Olympic Gold Medal coach, IRONMAN Master Coach, and inductee into the Triathlon Hall of Fame. With a background in Human Kinetics and Sports Psychology, he’s coached athletes at four Olympic Games and countless world championships. Known for his ability to help busy athletes improve rapidly through long-term structured training cycles, Lance brings practical insights into endurance, performance, and training efficiency.

Ben Sporer: Physiology for Endurance Performance

Ben Sporer is an Olympic physiologist and performance consultant. His book, Output: Optimizing Your Performance with Lessons Learned from Sport, reframes high performance by emphasizing “output” over “outcome.” Drawing from elite sports and executive environments, Ben distills performance strategies into accessible lessons for athletes, professionals, and creatives alike.

Mel Spooner: Nutrition for Triathletes

Mel Spooner blends elite racing experience with coaching finesse. Introduced to triathlon in 1993 as a volunteer at Ironman Canada, she went on to set age-group records, win three Ironman titles, and place 4th at the Ironman World Championships in Kona. Now based in the Okanagan, she leads EHF Coaching, offering personalized training and nutrition plans that integrate endurance, health, and long-term fitness. Her talk will explore training & race-day nutrition, practical recovery fueling, and how to build consistency through smart fueling.
