Triathlon Canada will be hosting a “super block” of events and camps for high performance pathway Junior & U23 athletes in Montreal this summer between June 24th and July 9th. The intention is to offer a high value opportunity to race and train by building a camp program around the existing world-class events in Montreal. Athletes will gain exposure to World Series level events and have the opportunity to race multiple times.

Competitions within the Super Block are as follows:
June 24th & 25th – World Triathlon Series Montreal (Sprint & MTR)
June 24 – Junior National Championships (16-19)
June 25 – U23 MTR National Championships (15-23)
July 8th & 9th – World Para Triathlon Series Montreal / America’s Cup Montreal
July 8 – U23 & Elite National Championships (within America’s Cup)
July 9 – National Development Series (16-23)

There are two camps planned that are five days each: June 26 to 30 & July 3 to 7. The program has been written as a two-week block, but athletes are also able to attend one week or the other. The camps will offer a mix of training and professional development with a focus on technical skills and optimizing health. Activities will be primarily based out of Parc Jean Drapeau, taking full advantage of the facilities which include:

Complexe Aquatique – Olympic Pool
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve – Formula 1 Race Track
Jean-Doré Beach – Open water swimming venue
Extensive network of trails and footpaths

We will also be working with the INS (Institut National du Sport du Quebec) for strength and conditioning as well as professional development opportunities supported by some of the expert practitioners working out of the center.

The cost for athletes to attend each week-long camp is $200. The camp fee includes all training and professional development session as well as lunch for each day of the camp. Athletes are responsible for their own travel, accommodations and meals outside of those provided. Accommodation and travel information is provided below.
Each PSO has been allocated a number of spots in each camp to distribute among their athletes. The PSOs have full discretion over whether selected athletes will attend one or both camp blocks. Registration information will be shared once numbers have been confirmed by each PSO. The capacity for each camp has been set at 25 athletes.

The Lead Coach for both camp blocks is Kyla Rollinson. There will be three Assistant Development Coach positions for each camp block. An EOI process will be shared shortly to fill those positions.

The following tables provides a summary of planned sessions. The “week 1” and “week 2” sessions are only open to athletes registered for the respective camp.
