In late 2017, a Committee was struck that included representatives from a number of Provincial Sport Organizations from across Canada.  The mandate of this Committee was to review the sport landscape as it relates to national governing body affiliation fees.  In the first half of 2018, a recommendation was made to the Triathlon Canada Board of Directors to increase adult affiliation fees from the current $5 to $15, and to increase youth and junior fees from the current $3 to $6, effective with the start of the 2019 season.

With the cost of delivering quality programming for both age group and high performance athletes growing, the current affiliation rates, which have remained largely unchanged for over 30 years (save for a small increase in 2014), were unsustainable with the current affiliation rates.

The decision was supported by provincial partners from coast to coast, including Triathlon BC, and will allow Triathlon Canada increased flexibility to meet its key initiatives in its Strategic Plan, and ultimately, to improve member experience  in the sport across the country.

Triathlon BC provincial membership remains unchanged for 2019, however, with the increase in national affiliation rates, the cost of annual membership has increased.  The itemized fees are listed below.
