Celebrating the Heart of Our Multisport Community
Behind every successful race, training session, and club program is a dedicated group of volunteers who make it all possible. Their passion, commitment, and countless hours of service are the foundation of our multisport community, and it’s time to recognize the incredible impact they have across British Columbia.
- The People Who Make It Happen – Volunteers are the lifeblood of our sport. Whether they’re coaching athletes, officiating races, organizing events, serving on club boards, or supporting behind the scenes, they help create the welcoming and inclusive community that defines triathlon in BC.
- Coaches – Our coaches do far more than teach swim, bike, and run skills. They mentor, encourage, and inspire athletes of all ages and abilities, helping them build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of sport.
- Club Board Members – From coordinating training schedules and managing registrations to organizing equipment and keeping clubs running smoothly, club volunteers provide the leadership that allows athletes to focus on enjoying the sport.
- Officials – Officials help ensure our competitions are fair, safe, and conducted with integrity. Their professionalism and commitment to sportsmanship are essential to every sanctioned event.
- Race Directors – Every finish line begins with months of planning. Race Directors and their organizing teams work tirelessly to manage logistics, recruit volunteers, secure permits, and deliver exceptional race experiences for athletes and spectators alike.
- Every Volunteer Matters – Many other individuals contribute to the success of our sport—course marshals, aid station volunteers, timing crews, committee members, photographers, and countless others. Every role makes a difference, and every volunteer deserves to be celebrated.
Help Us Recognize Outstanding Volunteers
Triathlon BC is proud to launch our Volunteer Recognition Campaign for 2026, celebrating the individuals who have selflessly dedicated their time and energy to growing multisport in our province. Do you know someone who goes above and beyond? A friend, teammate, coach, club member, official, or community volunteer who deserves recognition? We invite you to nominate them.
Submitting a Nomination is Easy
Tell us why your nominee deserves to be recognized. Include details about:
- Their volunteer role(s)
- The organizations or clubs they’ve supported
- The length of their service
- The positive impact they’ve had on athletes and the community
You’ll also need to provide their contact information before submitting your nomination.
To be eligible, nominees must have made significant, sustained, and unpaid contributions to the multisport community.
Nomination Deadline: 12:00 p.m. (Noon), September 30.
Join Us in saying thank you. Our volunteers rarely seek recognition, yet they deserve it more than anyone. Together, let’s celebrate the people who give so much to our sport and help ensure future generations can experience the same welcoming, supportive community we all enjoy.
Whether it’s a nomination, a social media shout-out, or simply taking a moment to say “thank you,” every expression of appreciation matters.
