Triathlon BC is committed to elevating the athlete experience and ensuring our sport thrives in an increasingly competitive event marketplace. With more than 25,000 monthly visitors, the Triathlon BC website is the leading hub for multisport athletes across the province.
Events Sanctioned by Triathlon BC carry a mark of excellence—signifying a comprehensive review of course design, medical and emergency plans, safety protocols, and volunteer capacity. Sanctioned organizers also benefit from ongoing technical support, professional guidance, and expert advice.
Sanctioning ensures:
- Safe and fair competition
- Collaboration between LOCs, host municipalities, and Triathlon BC
- Inclusive opportunities, including paratriathlon growth
- Sport development and greater visibility across BC
- Athlete development pathways and competitive opportunities
- High-performance racing that keeps athletes competing at home
All bids are reviewed by the Triathlon BC Sanction Committee, with 2026 BC Championship and Series designations announced on or before December 2, 2025.
BC CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT: Provincial Championships are the marquee events of our calendar, crowning Age Group Champions across all gender and age categories. Triathlon BC provides custom Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals for every podium finish.
Championship bids are open for:
- Junior, U23 Draft Legal
- Cross Triathlon
- Duathlon
- Sprint Triathlon
- Standard Triathlon
- Long Distance Triathlon
- Mixed Team Relay

BC X-TRI SERIES EVENT: Launched in 2025, the BC X-Tri Series features off-road triathlon in all its rugged glory; a compelling mix of open-water swimming, single track mountain biking, and trail running, all set against some of BC’s most iconic rural landscapes.
BC SUPERSERIES EVENT BIDS: The Triathlon BC SuperSeries is a premier, draft-legal high-performance series designed to develop Canada’s next Olympic talent. Since launch, the Series has grown in competitiveness, expanded to include U23 racing, and produced alumni competing on the world stage.
Note: Events within the BC SuperSeries require closed courses.
WESTERN CANADA SERIES EVENT BIDS: In partnership with Triathlon Alberta and Triathlon Saskatchewan, the Western Canada Series, a draft-legal high-performance series launched in 2024, continues to deliver strong participation across the three provinces and is a critical feeder system to the National Development Series.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS: Athletes looking to secure spots on Triathlon Canada’s Age Group National Team and represent Canada at the 2027 World Championships must race in designated qualifying events across the country. Results are adjusted to athletes’ ages as of December 31 of the Championship year.
Events wishing to host a qualifying event in a specific discipline must purchase spots from Triathlon Canada. Triathlon BC will provide a 30% subsidy to all events hosting qualifying events in BC.
