The Triathlon BC calendar lists all of the sanctioned events in BC. Upon extensive review by our Race Committee, top provincial events that submit an expression of interest are selected to represent Triathlon BC's Provincial Championships. The calendar below lists all events, including events that cater specifically to adults and/or kids (Kids of Steel/KOS). For youth specific information and opportunities, including Kids of Steel rules and regulations, please visit our Youth Page.

Triathlon Canada World Championship Age Group TeamsThousands of age group athletes travel to exotic places around the world to compete for their home country. Regardless of your age or ability, there may be a place for you on the Triathlon Canada Age Group World Championships Team! To learn about upcoming qualifying opportunities, please contact Triathlon Canada or skip down to our World Championship qualifying calendar.

SPECIAL NOTE 1: As of 2016, the ITU sprint triathlon and duathlon age group World Championships will be draft legal events. While no formal draft legal certification is required for adults, possessing competent on-bike group riding skills are a prerequisite to a safe and enjoyable experience for all athletes. Hone your skills and become a better, safer and more efficient cyclist, plan to take part in one of Triathlon BC's upcoming Draft Clinics.

SPECIAL NOTE 2, USE OF DISC BRAKES IN COMPETITION:
With the recent news about disc brake use in the professional cycling peloton, and the subsequent ruling by the world governing body or cycling (UCI), Triathlon BC's position on disc brake use in provincially sanctioned events is listed below.

(iv) In Triathlon BC sanctioned races, with the exception of Age Group Provincial Championships and Elite, U23, Junior and Youth Competitions, and races used to select members for Provincial or Canadian Teams, disc brakes are permitted.

OLYMPIC DISTANCE VS STANDARD DISTANCE: In a bid to align with International Triathlon Union terminology, events formerly known as Olympic distance triathlons (1,500m swim/40km bike/10km run) are listed as 'Standard' distance.

GOALS OF THE NATIONAL JUNIOR SERIES
    • To provide Canada’s junior athletes with highly competitive draft-legal racing experiences

    • To provide a quality race series within Canada to minimize costs and maximize benefits

    • To further develop exposure of our sport through increased media coverage

    SERIES POINTS

Final Junior Series Ranking is determined as the sum of the three (3) best performances.
Points awarded for Junior National Championships (Toronto) will be 125% of other Junior Series Races.
In the event of a tie, athletes are ranked in order of their finish at the Junior National Championships (Toronto).

    ELIGIBILITY OF NON-CANADIANS

The participation of non-Canadians is welcome in individual races as this contributes to the objective of providing experience in a highly competitive race environment.
Non-Canadians will be eligible for medals (if available) at each individual event.
Only Canadian athletes are eligible for travel assistance credit (if available) with both the individual events and overall series awards.
To ensure safety standards are preserved, non-Canadians must provide proof that they have been certified to participate in draft-legal races. It will be the responsibility of local race organizers and the PGB to ensure this requirement is met.
